Choking On Church

When you hear the word "church," do
 you choke?

Overall, are churches positive or negative
 parts of our society?

Are other social structures in people's lives taking the place religious organizations used to occupy in previous eras?

If you could redefine the word "church" to be anything you want it to be, what sort of organization would it describe?

Why do many people have very negative experiences or impressions of churches, while others have very positive ones (sometimes regarding the very same organizations)?
